REASONS TO JOIN US
Yosakoi looks and feels especially cool when the team dancing it is BIG! The upper team size limit at festivals in Japan is a whole one hundred and fifty (150!) people!
Of course we understand that reaching quite that size in Estonia is near impossible but what it means is that Yuurin always has and always will welcome new members!

Yosakoi is for everyone! Whether you've been dancing all your life or have never done it. Whether you are still a teenager or an adult, Yosakoi is for YOU! Our current youngest member is 14 and oldest 30.

Experience Japanese culture in a new way
Despite being relatively young, yosakoi is still very much thoroughly Japanese. Many often used movements often take inspiration from other forms of Japanese dances (e.g. bon odori, awa odori, kabuki), the costumes borrow design elements from traditional Japanese clothes, and even the act of dancing in perfect sync with a big group of people could be said to be very Japanese in nature!

De-stress through movement and making noise!
They say physical activity is one of the most important ways to keep away depression, and with Estonian weather, moving IS very important! However, with yosakoi you do not only move, you also clap naruko (wooden clappers) and shout! A perfect combination for reclaiming great mood whenever you're feeling down!

A big friendly family!
Yes, a very cliche point. But the leader of this team believes there are no bad people who would choose to spend their free time dancing in a niche style in a group mostly consisting of people enamored by various aspects of Japanese culture. Outside of dance practices we also organize various hangouts and we never forget to have fun! So why not come and join us in it!?
